Katharina van der Linde
Kathi is the founder and owner of Kite254. She studied sports science in Germany and has extensive knowledge of the methodology and didactics of teaching sports in general. Certified as a kitesurfing-, windsurfing- and wing foiling instructor, she has worked across Europe and managed one of the biggest watersports centres in Kenya for the past 9 years. Languages: German & English.

Salim Lauzi Kombo
Salim has been working in the kitesurfing industry for over 9 years. He is a highly experienced beach assistant and will guide you on any queries you might have on the spot. He is also very knowledgeable on kite repairs and can fix leaking bladders quickly. He recently successfully passed his IKO Level 1 instructor license and will now be joining our instructors team and guide you on your path of becoming an independent kitesurfer.

Juma Ali Fwatsu
The Corona outbreak in 2019 motivated him to learn how to kitesurf and turn his hobby into his profession. Juma is originally from the south coast and a local to the area of Diani Beach. Wherever a helping hand is required, he will be there to assist you. At the moment he is holding the position of a beach assistant at our kitesurf center in Diani, but for the future we will support him on his way of becoming a certified kitesurfing instructor.

Aly Peter Kinyua
Meet Aly!
With his infectious smile and accommodating personality, you can’t help but enjoy time with Aly around. He’s based at our Diani Sea Lodge location and will assist with your booking for kite lessons & rentals, help to find a storage location for your kitesurfing equipment or give a helping hand while launching/landing.

Bakari Juma Mwachimboto
Meet Bakari, another one of our amazing instructors. With an IKO qualification and years of top-level teaching experience, he’s an expert in the field. Born and bread in Diani, Bakari knows the ocean like the back of his hand. Get to know him and pass by our Diani Sea Lodge location to say hi.

Federico Bagnoli
Federico is IKO level 3 certified instructor from Italy and is travelling with his girlfriend Gloria. He doesn’t only teach kitesurfing, but will also be our wingfoil instructor at Pallet Cafe. Apart from Italian, he also speaks English and Spanish. Fede has worked in Diani Beach 3 seasons now and is known for his patient & professional, yet funny and outgoing character. BTW, he is the current Kenyan kitesurfing champion! We are looking forward to welcoming him again and having him on our team as a head instructor for the Kaskazi season 23/24. Get ready!

Gloria Correani
Gloria is Federico’s better half and the good soul of Kite.254. She will be managing both centers and take care of all bookings & schedules and will make sure, that everything runs smoothly. Gloria is also from Italy and speaks Italian and English. You are going to see her at our location at Pallet Cafe as well as our location at Diani Sea Lodge. Make sure to book in with her for you kitesurfing experience is Diani Beach!

Dominique Baldassarre
Dom is our French speaking kite instructor for the Kaskazi season 23/24 in Diani Beach. He is IKO level 2 certified & has travelled, kited and taught all over the world: Spain, Italy, Philippines, Colombia, Caribbean, Brasil, Mexico and the Netherlands. Only to name a few destinations… He also speaks Italian, Spanish and English. We are looking forward to having such an experienced instructor on the team, who can share his knowledge with our students!

Jens Zimmermann
Jens is from Germany and usually works as a social worker and anti-violence trainer in Berlin, but he is currently taking a sabbatical year and achieved is IKO level 1 instructor earlier this year in Portugal after kiting for several years himself. His home spot is the baltic sea. Jens has a passion for outdoor sports such as: wakeboarding, long-distance cycling, climbing and snowboarding. His pedagogical skills, combined with his passion for water sports and outgoing, open-minded personality, makes him a great fit for our kitesurf school in Diani Beach!
